QUESTION:
I have installed the 64bit version of DemandTools and have 64bit Access 2016 but I cannot read or write accdb files.
When I try to read an accdb file I get an error:
The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine
When I try to write to a accdb file I get an error:
Error: Class Not Registered
All other file types work. How can I resolve?
ANSWER:
- The errors occur when running the 64bit version of Access 2016 with the 64bit version of DemandTools. Running all other 64bit versions of Access with 64bit DemandTools does not cause issues.
- To resolve, manually install the 64bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable driver which can be downloaded here.
**********After clicking "Download" select "AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe" to install the 64 bit drivers************
Note: If you are running an earlier version of Access (e.g. 2013, 2010) and having problems reading/writing accdb files please refer to the following solution: Problems loading csv and accdb files in the DemandTools 2.6 64bit Release
