Problems loading csv and xlsx files in 32 bit DemandTools Version 2.5, 2.6

QUESTION:

I am running 32 bit DemandTools version 2.5, 2.6 , and I am having problems reading .csv and .xlsx files:

csv files result in the error:  The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine

xlsx files result in the error "File has no data" with a row count of -1

Note:  xls files work.

How can I resolve?

ANSWER:

The errors occur when running Office 2013 32 or 64bit versions, and/or running a 64bit version of Office 2010 or lower.  

These DemandTools versions were updated to the use the newer "Microsoft.Ace.Oledb" driver for reading files in MassEffect vs. the "Microsoft.Jet.OleDb" driver.

To resolve, download the 32bit Microsoft Access Database Engine from the following link:

The 32 bit version of the driver is needed because these versions of DemandTools are 32-bit applications.
