I am using Salesforce Professional Edition and recently upgraded to the 2.6 version of DemandTools and can no longer access BulkBackup or any of the Bulk API Options in MassEffect, MassImpact, or FindId's. I was able to run jobs using the Bulk API in version 2.5, why are they no longer available?
Salesforce DOES NOT support Bulk API in Professional Edition. To avoid confusion we chose to disable the options in the 2.6 release so users would not attempt to run jobs that utilize the Bulk API as they would always result in errors.
If the API add-on is purchased from Salesforce it seems that the Bulk options WILL WORK. Therefore starting in version 2.60.67, we added a hidden option to enable the Bulk API buttons and BulkBackup on Professional Edition Orgs where the API was purchased. To enable the hidden option:
- Goto DemandTools -> Options
- At the bottom of the option window Ctrl-Alt-Right Click in the white space between “Proxy Server Settings” and “OK”
- Check the option for “Enable Bulk API for PE Org”
NOTE: This should ONLY be enabled in orgs where the API add-on was purchased.
