QUESTION:
We have a number of Accounts owned by users that have since left the company. Is there a quick way to find all the Accounts owned by inactive owners and reassign them to active owners?
ANSWER:
Yes. Reassign Ownership can be used to find Accounts (or another object) owner by inactive owners and reassign to an active owner. On screen 1 when providing conditions for which objects to reassign simply click the + to the left of the "Owner - User" to show fields from the owner table (who owns the Accounts) and create a condition where "isactive" = False. This will only return Accounts owned by inactive owners. When reassigning to an active owner it will reassign the Accounts and any checked related sub-objects linked to those Accounts (selections on screen 2), i.e. Contacts, Open Opportunities from the inactive owner to the chosen active owner.
