What is PeopleImport?
PeopleImport is a stand alone Windows based program that is designed to allow the end user to develop customized import scenarios. These scenarios include customized passes to ensure duplicates are not created, but rather that existing Leads, Accounts or Contacts are updated.
The application steps the user through various stages to take a spreadsheet of "People Data", map the input data to the fields in Salesforce for Leads, Contacts and Accounts, compare to existing data based on customized matching techniques and ultimately import the list, updating existing records and only importing new records. In addition, Campaign links and Tasks can be attached to any of the records as part of the import process.
NOTE: Although Accounts can be inserted or updated during the import process, they cannot be manipulated independently. Contact data must be present in your input spreadsheet, as Accounts are only affected based on the Contacts.
