Why do I need to create a trial when accessing production or a sandbox via PeopleImport?
This is normal when logging in to a production org, developer org, new sandbox or refreshed sandboxes for the first time.
Production orgs, developer orgs, sandboxes and refreshed sandboxes (refreshing a sandbox deletes the old sandbox and creates a new one with a new org id) all have different Salesforce organization IDs.
Our license verification process is based on the Salesforce org ID; when an org is logged into for the first time via PeopleImport, a trial needs to be created on our license server.
Customers with a current subscription will have their org switched from trial mode and updated to reflect their contract expiry date.
Multiple sandboxes are permitted for one production instance.
NOTE: Starting with version 2.4 users can activate THEIR OWN sandboxes i.e. link them to production; please refer to the help link above for more details.
