QUESTION:
Do Validity products support TLS Encryption 1.2?
ANSWER:
- Salesforce ended support for TLS 1.0 on July 22nd, 2017.
- DemandTools version 2.60.80 and lower will no longer work
- PeopleImport version 2.20.32 and lower will no longer work.
- Users are encouraged to upgrade NOW
- DupeBlocker IS NOT AFFECTED by this change.
Validity supports up to TLS 1.2 encryption for all communication on our license servers for DemandTools, PeopleImport and DupeBlocker. However, our DemandTools and PeopleImport applications are built on .net and changes were needed to support TLS 1.1 and up.
To avoid disruption of service between DemandTools and PeopleImport and the Salesforce Platform, please upgrade to the latest releases of each.
If you are running an earlier version and have activated the Salesforce critical update "Require TLS 1.1 or higher for HTTPS connections" you will get an error upon login:
Login Error: UNSUPPORTED CLIENT: TLS 1.0 has been disabled in this organization. Please use TLS 1.1 or higher when connecting to Salesforce using https
To resolve, upgrade to the latest version or deactivate the critical update.
Note: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 RT will need to enable support for TLS 1.2 in order to work with DemandTools. If not, enabled users will receive the following login error: Login Error: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.
