DemandTools - StateMatchOverrides File

A StateMatchOverrides.txt file can be found in the Documents\DemandToolsData\ReplaceList directory or Documents\PeopleImportData\ReplaceList directory.  This file can be used to customize the "State Match" mapping type and the "StateMatchShort" and "StateMatchLong" MassImpact formulas with international state abbreviations.



The file is a simple text file and can be opened/modified using notepad.

NOTE: This file is loaded upon login, therefore if changes are made they will not be recognized until the user logs out and back in to DemandTools.

• Add in the data by including 3 values: Name to check, Long Name, Short Name
  • To match both "DV" and "Demo Ville" and return the correct long or short form, 2 lines will need to be added:
    • DV,Demo Ville,DV
    • Demo Ville,Demo Ville,DV
  • Multiple variations for the names can also be added to catch for spelling errors or other forms of the name
    • DemoVille,Demo Ville,DV - In the case that there is no space
    • DemV,Demo Ville,DV - Possible alternate spelling
  • Any values that are added in this file will apply just to the local computer and will override any existing matches
    • For example, if the line California,California,CAL was added, the short name for California would now be CAL instead of the existing CA
  • To match/standardize Australian states the following entries could be added:
    • Australian Capital Territory,Australian Capital Territory,ACT
    • ACT,Australian Capital Territory,ACT
    • New South Wales,New South Wales,NSW
    • NSW,New South Wales,NSW
    • Northern Territory,Northern Territory,NT
    • NT,Northern Territory,NT
    • Queensland,Queensland,QLD
    • QLD,Queensland,QLD
    • South Australia,South Australia,SA
    • SA,South Australia,SA
    • Tasmania,Tasmani,TAS
    • TAS,Tasmania,TAS
    • Victoria,Victoria,VIC
    • VIC,Victoria,VIC
    • Western Australia,Western Australia,WA
    • WA,Western Australia,WA
