1. Log into DemandTools
- Select the Auto-Login box on the login screen
- Login with the credentials to be saved with the .reg file
2. Select Edit -> Options
- Select the settings to be saved and used when the .reg file is clicked to access DemandTools
- Make sure Auto Login or Oauth Auto Login is selected (based on the login method used) in the General Settings tab
- Ensure all other settings in the Options menu are set to how you prefer DemandTools to behave in this instance (e.g. Update/Insert/Delete Batch Size)
- Click HERE to learn more about the settings available in the DemandTools' Options menu
3. Select the File Paths Tab
- Select the "Export Registry Settings" button
4. Save and Name the file
- It is recommended to save the file on the Desktop for easy access
- Name the .reg file to denote which org it points to, e.g. "<Company Name> Production Org" or "Sandbox Org"
- It is recommended that when a .reg file is being used, the default DemandTools icon be removed and all instances use a .reg file for login
- An icon with blue cubes will now be in the location chosen during the save
- To open with DemandTools, right click the icon and select the Open With feature and select DemandTools as the program
- The next time you right click on the icon and select Open With, you will see DemandTools as the first program
