JobBuilder batches can be executed manually and on an automated schedule. A built in link to Microsoft Task Scheduler allows JobBuilder batches to be scheduled with ease.
Scheduling Reminders
- Run DemandTools Command: Auto login must be enabled in DemandTools
- Must have access to Windows Task Scheduler
- The scheduled batch will only run when the user is logged on and at the specified interval
- If using a laptop, it must be plugged in. Scheduled jobs will not execute on a laptop running off of battery power
Scheduling a Batch
- Click the Schedule Batch or Edit|Create Schedule button to access the scheduling interface
- Also accessible under Edit or with the keyboard shortcut CTRL + B
- In the top right corner of the main interface is a visual indicator for Scheduled status
- Red radio button with Not Scheduled verbiage indicates this batch is not scheduled
- Green radio button with Scheduled verbiage indicates this batch has an active scheduled execution
Scheduling Interface
- Specify the schedule's Frequency, Start Date, Start Time, Batch Tag and Description
- Keep the Status switch set to On
- Click the Create Schedule button to save and activate the schedule
- A task is now created in Windows Task Scheduler
- To Delete a Schedule
- The Status toggle switch can be turned to off to delete the schedule
- When switched to off the Create Schedule button becomes the Delete Schedule button
- When the Delete Schedule button is clicked, the Windows Task Scheduler Task is also deleted
1. Execute Batch
- Specify frequency (Daily, Monthly, Weekly, Every X Minutes)
2. Start Date
- Date of the first scheduled run
3. Start Time
- Time of day to kick off the batch
4. Status Toggle Switch
- On to create a schedule
- Off to delete a schedule
5. Batch Tag
- Will be embedded in the name of the Windows scheduled task
6. Description
- User notes for the batch
- Will be shown in the Windows scheduled task
7. Windows Task Scheduler Name
- The name the job can be found under in the Windows task library
8. Status (of scheduled run)
- Next Scheduled Run Date
- Populates when the schedule is saved
- Previous Run Date
- The last time the batch was executed
- Previous Run Result
- Results of the last run
