What can I do about a blocklist listing now?
- IPs are most commonly listed on blocklists because email from the IP address is going to spam traps operated by the blocklist and/or end user complaints tracked by the blocklist. To prevent a listing on a blocklist follow recommendations to reduce complaints and spam traps.
- Visit the blocklist owner website to help determine why they listed the IP and what steps need to be followed for removal.
- Another action to cause a blocklisting is having mis-configured infrastructure with open relays. Check your infrastructure to ensure no open relays are present and it is secured.
- Use caution when sending to rented or purchased lists from your IPs. If you are going to do this, isolate these sends on their own IP to protect your other IPs.
