Adding the Everest seed list to your Salesforce Marketing Cloud campaigns in Email can be done in a few steps. Choose the app you plan to use—Email Studio, Journey Builder*, or Automation Studio—below and follow the instructions to start collecting Inbox Placement data in Everest through your Salesforce Marketing Cloud sends.
How to add the Everest seed list to campaigns sent through Email Studio
To add your seed list to Salesforce Marketing Cloud:
- Sign in to Everest.
- Use the navigation menu at left to go to Inbox Placement, then the Manage Seed List tab.
- Under the Download Seed List section, select the Actions button and then select Download: CSV.
- Sign in to Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Navigate to Email Studio and then Email.
- In the top navigation, go to Subscribers.
- Create a list or a data extension that contains the Everest seed list.

- After creating your list or data extension, go into that list and import the Everest seed list CSV.

To use your seed list:
Send a campaign as you normally would in Email Studio, being sure to add the list or data Extension that contains the Everest seed list to the campaign for which you’d like to see deliverability metrics in Everest.
- Make sure that seeds are not included or added to any of the exclude or suppression lists in your account.
When the campaign deploys, you will be able to see placement metrics for that campaign in Everest.
How to add the Everest seed list to campaigns sent through Journey Builder or Automation Studio
To add your seed list to SFMC:
- Sign in to Everest.
- Use the navigation menu at left to go to Inbox Placement, then the Manage Seed List tab.
- Under the Download Seed List section, select the Actions button and then select Download: CSV.
- Sign in to Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Navigate to Audience Builder and then Contact Builder.
- In the top navigation, select Data Extensions.

To use your seed list:
Send your campaign in a journey or automation as you normally would, adding the data extension containing the Everest seed list to any campaign you’d like to see deliverability metrics for in Everest.
- Make sure that seeds are not included or added to any of the exclude or suppression lists in your account.
When the campaign deploys, you will be able to see placement metrics for that campaign in Everest.
Note: You will occasionally receive an in-app or email notification, depending on your Everest settings, if your seed list changes. Simply follow the instructions above to update your list.
*Manual seeding will not work with all Journey Builder scenarios. The recommended setup for branching journeys is to duplicate your creative content and send only to the seed list, using a single journey for each version of your content.
