This setup guide is intended for SFMC customers. If you are not a SFMC customer, please refer to the Everest integration setup guide for instruction on integrating Google Postmaster and SNDS data.
Google Postmaster Tools (GPT)
We recommend setting up a new general Gmail address to serve as the administrator (example: customername.gpt@gmail.com).
Tip: If you have a team that may need access to GPT data, it is recommended to create a new Gmail account just for GPT where login credentials can be shared.
Add and verify a new authenticated domain
- Login to GPT with a Gmail or Google Workspace email address that you wish to serve as the account to manage your GPT data.
- If you have a team that may need access to GPT data, it is recommended to create a new Gmail account just for Postmaster Tools where login credentials can be shared.
- On the bottom-right, click Add +
- In the box that pops up, enter your authentication domain and click Next
- A unique verification TXT record will appear by default that must be added as a TXT record into your domain’s DNS to prove domain ownership. Example:
google-site-verification=w_lOQZcHsUMgFKZgHNOWkXHRaI5Lxx3pfj5hp6k5DT0 - Repeat steps 1 - 5 for each domain.
When you have the TXT record(s) for each domain, create a SFMC support ticket with the following information:
- "Please add this Google Postmaster Tools TXT record to our DNS of our domain(s) _____ and notify me when complete. Thanks!"
- In the ticket, if you have multiple domains, make sure you identify which TXT record goes with which domain.
Share your domain's postmaster data with Everest
- Login to GPT
- Point your cursor on one of your verified domains
- To the right of the domain, click More⋮ (3 vertical dots)
- Click Manage Users
- At bottom-right, click Add +
- In the pop-up, enter the Everest GPT alias ‘googlepmt@250ok.com‘ to add Everest as an additional authorized GPT user with “read access” on your domain.
After completing this step, it may take a few hours for Everest to link your Postmaster Tools account and start collecting data. In the Settings & Instructions tab, your domain will be listed as “Pending Setup” until the point at which we start detecting data.
Note: As a domain owner, you can add or remove anyone who isn’t also an owner from your domain. If you want to remove someone from your domain who is an owner, however, you’ll need to remove their domain verification record in the DNS.
Add GPT data to Everest
Once the 250ok.com email address is added to GPT.
- Log into Everest
- Go to My Everest > Apps & Integrations
- Scroll down to the Google Postmaster Tools tile and click Settings
- On the top right, click Add Domain
- Enter the domain into the field and click Add Domain(s)
You’ll want to make sure the green check mark appears under the Verified column on that page in Everest. It may take a while to start populating data. Once the GPT data populates, it can be found in Everest under Monitoring > Reputation at the bottom of the page. You can also add a GPT widget to your Custom Dashboard(s).
Microsoft SNDS
A Microsoft Outlook email address is required. Create a new account if you don't already have one.
1. Sign up with SNDS
After you enter your IP address(es), the next page will display a list of email addresses. (example screenshot below).
2. Select the abuse@c.exacttarget.com address. There is also a text window below it – we recommend entering this in the box:
"We would like to set up Microsoft SNDS for the (your account name) account – IP 13.xxx.xxx.xx. We have just sent an email to abuse@c.exacttarget.com. Please complete the setup of SNDS for our account. The message will be sent from snds-authorization@outlook.com. Thank you."
3. Click Send mail to the chosen address
4. Create a support ticket with SFMC asking them to confirm the setup. SFMC owns the IP addresses so creating a support ticket ensures they receive the message. Use the same verbiage you entered in the box on the SNDS page:
"We would like to set up Microsoft SNDS for the (your account name) account – IP 13.xxx.xxx.xx. We have just sent an email to abuse@c.exacttarget.com. Please complete the setup of SNDS for our account. The message will be sent from snds-authorization@outlook.com. Thank you."
SFMC will send you a confirmation when it is done.
5. Once SFMC has confirmed the setup, log back into Microsoft SNDS and click View Data to see your IP data.
6. Click View or change your automated access settings.
You should see two URLS on the Automated Data Access page. The URL you need looks like this:
- Log into Everest
- Go to My Everest > Apps & Integrations
- Scroll down to the Microsoft SNDS tile and click Add Account
- On the top right, click the Add Domain button
- Copy and paste the data URL listed on the SNDS page (e.g. https://sendersupport.olc.protection.outlook.com/snds/data.aspx?key=XXXXX) into the provided field.
- Click Add Key
It may take a while to start populating SNDS data in Everest. Once the SNDS data is populated, it is found in Everest under Monitoring > Reputation towards the bottom of the page. You can also add an SNDS widget to your Custom Dashboard(s).
Information on what Microsoft SNDS provides can be found on their FAQ page.
