SenderID is an authentication protocol developed by Microsoft that is based on Sender Policy Framework (SPF). Unlike SPF, SenderID is validated against the From email address, not the Return-Path address.
SenderID should no longer be used, because Microsoft no longer validates against it. Instead, senders should authenticate email using the SPF protocol.
