Everest Inbox Placement allows you to monitor the performance of campaigns across a variety of regional and global email service providers, as well as hosting and filter companies. A feature of Inbox Placement is the Seed List Optimizer.
The Seed List Optimizer gives you the ability to upload a real-world email list from your organization to Everest, to help seed list testing more accurately reflect where your customers receive mail. This measure provides you a better idea of how your campaigns will perform across mailbox providers used by your customers when you apply weighting to the Everest seed list.
NOTE: Using the Seed List Optimizer will not add or subtract addresses from your Everest seed list unless you remove regions from your weighted seed lists on the Manage Seed List tab. Seed list weighting is performed algorithmically and not via the addition or subtraction of addresses.
Exploring the Seed List Optimizer
To explore the capabilities of the Seed List Optimizer, use the navigation menu at left to go to In-Flight, then Inbox Placement. Select the Manage Seed List tab and open the Seed List Optimizer widget.
In the Seed List Optimizer widget is a table where your uploaded and optimized lists will appear. You can upload a list and then come back to it later for future use.
To create a new optimized list:
- Make sure the .csv or .txt file containing the list you want to upload has no header row and no additional information beyond email addresses, one per line. If you are using a .csv file, you should only use column A and emails should start in cell A1.
- Select Upload List.
- Enter a description for your list.
- Select Choose File to locate the .csv or .txt file containing your list.
- Select Upload List.
Note: Everest will remove the part before the @ symbol from your email address list as it is uploaded and will not keep this information. This way you can ensure no personal identifiable information is used or accessed during the process.
List Optimizer Results
After your results have finished processing, your optimized list will appear in the table. You can then review or export your results and apply weighting. Select the arrow icon to the right of your list to open the List Optimizer Results slideout.
In the slideout, you can see which domains are mapped to each mailbox provider. Select the arrow icon to the right of a provider to review all domains mapped there.
Seed Weighting
To generate a weighted seed list based on these results, select the Apply Weighting button. This will automatically close the Seed List Optimizer widget and open the Seed Weighting widget below.
From the Seed Weighting widget, you can choose to remove recipients based on region and type, and manually adjust the weight for each mailbox provider and hosting and filter company.
To finalize your selections, enable weighting, and generate a weighted seed list, select the Save Weighting button. This will automatically open the Download Seed List widget below.
Downloading and using your weighted seed list
To download a .csv or a .txt file containing your weighted seed list, select Actions, then either Download: CSV or Download: One Per Line. Switch over to your Email Service Provider (ESP) or sending platform and upload your seed list, then send as you normally would.
