DMARC reports provide insight into the authentication results sent from your domain. It also helps you identify potential domain spoofing and keep track of authorized third-parties sending emails on your behalf.
In order to forward DMARC reports to Everest, you need to edit or add the "rua" and "ruf" tags to your DMARC TXT record along with the following addresses. Your ESP or hosting provider may do this for you depending on your service level. If you use an internal sending system, contact your email administrator or IT department.
- Aggregate report address: rua=mailto:dmarc_agg@dmarc.everest.email
- Forensic report address: ruf=mailto:dmarc_fr@dmarc.everest.email
If you are adding a new DMARC record, be sure to use _dmarc as the subdomain in DNS.
For example:
Host
- _dmarc.sampledomain.com
This DNS TXT record instructs mailbox providers to send your aggregate DMARC reports and forensic reports to Everest. If you have a p= value of "p=quarantine" or "p=reject" already in place within your DMARC TXT record, do not change it to "p=none". This DMARC TXT record example is for illustrative purposes only.
