In Everest Partner Edition, the child account view is for monitoring your own brands and subsidiaries, while the shared accounts view allows you to see your service clients’ data.
Child accounts
A child account is a subsidiary or brand that is owned or controlled by a parent account. Child account data and metrics can be combined and viewed within the parent account.
For example, XYZ Inc. has numerous subsidiaries, including:
- Company ABC
- Company DEF
- Company GHI
In Everest, XYZ Inc is set up as the parent account and Company ABC, Company DEF, and Company GHI are set up as child accounts to show that they are subsidiaries to XYZ Inc.
As a Partner, you may or may not have child accounts under your account.
- For example, if you own and manage a single ESP for all your service clients, you may only have a single account with no children.
- But say you own and manage two ESPs and an SMS platform, all with their own branding and marketing functions. In this case, you may wish to view each brand as a child account in Partner Edition.
Child accounts and the parent account each use their own seed list, tracking pixel, integrations, etc. Data events, tests, and credits are shared in a common pool and can be allocated to each child by the parent account owner.
Shared accounts
The shared accounts feature allows service clients that also use Everest to share deliverability data or allow their ESP to access their data directly, if desired. This gives the ESP additional insight into their service clients’ email programs and can aid in troubleshooting.
