First, in Microsoft Teams:
- Sign in to your Microsoft Teams account.
- Navigate to the Channel where your Incoming Webhook will post messages.
- Note: selecting just a Team will not present the correct options. Make sure you are in a Channel.
- Select (•••) More Options from the top navigation bar.
- Choose Connectors from the drop-down menu and search for Incoming Webhook.
- If you cannot find Incoming Webhook in your search, ask your IT administrator to enable Incoming Webhook for your Teams instance.
- If you are given the option to Add the Incoming Webhook connector, select Add and then return to the Connectors menu. Otherwise, proceed to step 6.
- Select the Configure button, provide a name, and, optionally, upload an image avatar for your webhook.
- Next, copy the Webhook URL.
- Select Done.
Then, in Everest:
- Sign in to Everest.
- Use the navigation menu at left to go to My Everest, then Alerts.
- Select New Alert. This will open the New Alert slideout.
- Enter a description for your alert. For clarity, give the alert a description that indicates these alerts are coming from Microsoft Teams.
- Use the Category dropdown menu to select the category for which you wish to receive notifications.
- Select the Notify me via Microsoft Teams toggle switch.
- Enter the Microsoft Teams Webhook URL in the field that appears.
- Use the Run This Alert dropdown menu to select the frequency with which you would like to receive notifications.
- You can optionally select the Don’t include repetitive items in alerts checkbox to turn off repeating alerts. For instance, if you are blocklisted for any reason, this option will ensure you are only notified once.
- Select Save Alert.
