QUESTION:
I am trying to install DupeBlocker and keep getting a message that the login credentials I am entering are invalid, but I know they are correct. How can I resolve?
ANSWER:
This is a Salesforce package installation problem of some kind, not specific to DupeBlocker. Once the login information is accepted by Salesforce, then the actual DupeBlocker installation process begins.
Below are a few items to double-check:
- When prompted for where to install DupeBlocker, confirm that the appropriate radio button for either production or sandbox is selected, and Salesforce ID/password entered is for that instance.
- In order to install packages a user needs to be a System Administrator, so make sure the login credentials being used are for a System Administrator in Salesforce.
- If attempting to install DupeBlocker in a sandbox, you may have to first login to the AppExchange with your production login information. Once successfully logged into the AppExchange, THEN access DupeBlocker and when prompted select the option to install in a sandbox and enter the sandbox login credentials.
- CLOSE all windows in that browser then try the install, or use a different browser.
