GridBuddy Connect - Create an Action to “Launch a grid in a new window”

Actions can be added to your grids to incorporate additional Salesforce functions, such as‘Convert’ or ‘Send email’. All GridBuddy Connect Actions must point to a URL. In this example, we will add Launch full screen’ to a grid, allowing us to open the grid in a new tab.

If you’ve embedded a grid onto your homepage, or onto a Salesforce record, you might want this ‘launch full screen’ action to open the grid in a new, full sized window.

1. Go to GridBuddy Connect Wizard and select “manage grids”
   1. Select the grid you want to open in a full screen
   2. Copy the URL

2. Go to GridBuddy Connect Wizard and select “manage actions”
   1. Click ‘create new action’
   2. Action name: Launch __(grid name)__ full screen
   3. Type: Global
   4. Location: Button
   5. Display Behavior: New Window
   6. Content Source: URL
   7. Content: Paste in the URL you copied from the grid in step 1
   8. Click ‘save’

3. Open the grid you selected in step 1.
   1. At the bottom of step 2 in the wizard, select the ‘launch full screen’ action
   2. Click ‘save’

4. Find the grid on its embedded location, whether that be the homepage or a Salesforce record.
   1. Click the ‘Launch full screen’ button
   2. The grid will open in a new window
