Conditional formatting allows administrators to add grid colors based on certain conditions. For example, on an Opportunity grid, the "close date" field could be highlighted red if the date is in the past, or a field could be highlighted in yellow if it is blank. Conditional formatting appears the instant a field meets the specified criteria, before the grid is even saved.
Conditional formatting is set up in Step 2 of the Grid Wizard.
1. Click ADD RULE and give the rule a name that makes sense, such as "Close dates next month".
2. Select the controlling field, such as "opportunity close date" or "opportunity stage".
3. Set up the criteria, such as "equals" "NEXT_MONTH"? or "Qualification".
4. Click ADD RULE to add another conditional formatting rule, or click SAVE to save your rule.
You can use the following relative date filters with Conditional Formatting:
- THIS_MONTH
- NEXT_MONTH
- LAST_MONTH
- THIS_QUARTER
- NEXT_QUARTER
- LAST_QUARTER
- THIS_YEAR
- NEXT_YEAR
- LAST_YEAR
- LAST_N_DAYS:n
- NEXT_N_DAYS:n
