Create a tab that contains single or multiple grids, and add it to a workspace (In Lightning)
Step 1: Create your grids
Step 2: Create the tabbed page to contain the grids that you want in your workspace
I. Click the Grid Wizard
II. Click “Managed Tabbed Pages
III. Click ‘new’ to create a new tabbed page
IV. Enter a title for the page.
V. Keep ‘global buttons’ & ‘Salesforce header’ checked
VI. Click ‘add tab’ and select each individual grid from the ‘content’ drop down menu. These
grids will appear as a tab on the page in the order that you select them here.
VII. Click ‘save’
Step 3: Create a tab for this page
I. Click ‘Setup’
II. Search for ‘tabs’ and click ‘Tabs’
III. Scroll to the ‘Visualforce Tabs’ section and click ‘New’
IV. Under ‘Visualforce page’ pick the tabbed page that you just created
V. Type the tab label that you want on your tab
VI. Click on the Tab Style and pick the style you’d like this tab to have.
VII. Click ‘next’ and choose what profiles will see this tab (default is all)
VIII. Click ‘next’ and choose what custom apps will have this tab available (default is all)
IX. Click ‘save’ to create your tab
Step 3: Add the tab to your current workspace
I. Click the App Launcher and search for your new tab by typing the name or looking for it
under All Items
II. Click your tab and it will appear at the end of your current workspace
III. Click the pencil icon to reorder your tabs so that your new tab is not at the end
Step 4 (Optional): Create an app for your new tab page (similar to ‘Sales’) or permanently
add your new tab to an existing app:
I. Go to Setup
II. Search for ‘App Manager ‘ and click ‘App Manager’
III. Click ‘New Lightning App’ to create a brand new one, or click the drop down arrow and
click ‘edit’ to change and existing app
IV. For a new app:
a. Type the App Name and choose a color if you like
b. Click ‘next’, ‘next’, ‘next’ until you are in the ‘Select Items’ page
c. Find the tabs you want in your app on the left, select them and click the > arrow
to move them to the right side
V. Click ‘next’
VI. Add the profiles that you want to access this app by selecting them and clicking the >
arrow to move them to the right side
VII. Click ‘save and finish’
VIII. Now your app will be visible in the “All Apps” section when you click the App Launcher.
Click and drag to re-order the apps in this window.
Step 5: Give profiles access to this new tab
1. Navigate to Salesforce Setup
2. In the Quick find box, search for ‘Profiles’ and select it
3. Select the Profile assigned to the user you want to grant access to, for example
‘Custom-Sales’
4. In the Profile Overview page, select "Visualforce Page Access" under Apps
5. Click on ‘Edit’
6. Move the ‘GBTabs Visualforce’ page from the ‘Available Visualforce pages’ section to
the ‘Enabled Visualforce pages’ section
7. Click ‘Save’
Note on step 5:
• Every time you create a tabbed page, GridBuddy automatically generates a
VisualForce page in the backend with a ‘GBTabs_tabbedpagename’ label.
• Users' who are accessing this tabbed grid should have access to the VisualForce page
that got generated.
• Follow the above procedure to enable the VisualForce page on any user profile.
