As of GridBuddy version 5.4, usage tracking is available by default. View the GridBuddy Usage dashboard to see analytics on grid usage in your organization. The GridBuddy Usage dashboard can be found within the GridBuddy Usage Dashboards folder. Additional reports and dashboards can be created via Salesforce’s standard reporting tools. See the table below for the types of actions that are tracked.
Action | Description |
---|---|
Grid View | A user views (loads) a grid. If the user views the grid again in the same session, the second and any subsequent views will not be tracked. See below for more information about sessions. |
Grid Save | A user edits data and saves. |
Grid Edit | The number of cells edited when saving. |
What is a session?
When a user first logs into Salesforce, a session is created. Any action that is taken after this login will part of this session until a logout occurs.
When does a session end?
A session ends when a user actively logs out of Salesforce, or when Salesforce automatically logs a user out due to inactivity.
When does a new session begin?
After an explicit or automatic logout, when a user logs back into Salesforce, a new session will be created.
Note: If a grid’s name is changed, actions taken on the grid after the name change will reflect the new grid name. However, existing usage data prior to the name change will still have the old grid name. For existing data, you can look at the Grid lookup field to find the new grid name.
