QUESTION:
Do I need to adjust my network settings to access PeopleImport?
ANSWER:
In most cases, no network settings have to be adjusted to use PeopleImport on your local computer. If you do have problems logging into PeopleImport (and you can login to Salesforce using the same login username and Password) you should provide the following information to your network administrator:
Communication
All communication is done to the Salesforce servers (salesforce.com). An initial license verification is done to the Validity server (www.peopleimport.com) via TLS 1.2 on port 443. If you are bypassing salesforce.com on your proxy, you will also have to bypass www.peopleimport.com for PeopleImport to verify your license.
Proxy Settings
Proxy settings can be accessed by selecting the “Proxy Settings” button on the login screen. These settings are global and will work for your communications to Salesforce and to the Validity license server.
NOTES:
1. ENSURE that all proxy servers and/or network/local PC firewalls (including anti-virus software) have www.peopleimport.com whitelisted as a trusted server (include the www.)
2. We do not recommend whitelisting our server IP Address as we reserve the right to change our servers at any time which will result in a new IP address. It is always recommended that www.peopleimport.com be whitelisted vs. whitelisting the actual IP address. For users that require the actual IP to be whitelisted, the address for www.peopleimport.com is 104.130.178.103. Users can also ping www.peopleimport.com to confirm the IP Address at any time.
